While celebrating the World Habitat Day, girls from different schools in Ngororero district requested people that seduce them into sexual activities to stop doing so since from such they end up with unwanted teenage pregnancies.
With the year’s theme “Protecting teenagers from Pregnancies”, these girls from different schools organised drama against people who impregnate them while still teenagers.
From ESCOM Rucano Gilbert Nduwayezu expressed disapproval to Sugar Mummies who seduce teenage boys into sex, while Christine Ingabire from ADEC Ruhanga expressed hers to Sugar Daddies who do the same to teenage girls.
“We are the future Rwanda so stop destroying our lives while we are still young”, said the two students.

These teenagers again expressed their desire to be educated more about reproduction, ways of preventing the spread of HIV/AIDS, sex education, and different ways the can carry themselves during their teenage period.
From United Nations Population Fund [UNFPA], the organizers, Andrew Ntwari showed numbers of teenagers who get pregnant at a tender age.
“6% of girls between 15-19years get unwanted pregnancies which sometimes lead to deaths since worldwide women who die while giving birth mostly are young girls of such age”, explained Ntwari
“In Rwanda alone 47% of women between such an age die while giving birth”, continued Ntwari.
He called on different categories of leaders to find ways that can prevent teenage pregnancies from taking place.

Jean Birorimana in charge of economic planning in the district also expressed his concern calling on residents to help prevent the growing population in this district.
He then explained to youths the different risks they face if at all they got pregnant at such a tender age.
