Muhangi: Kabgayi Seminary alumni visit the school in style

The administration ofKabgayi Seminary in Muhanga district find it necessary for old students to always visit their old schools to see how far they have gone and to give lessons to the current students.
This was said by Fr. Theotime Gatete the director of Kabgayi Seminary during the visit from old seminary students who even supported the current students in the seminary.

The students who graduated from the seminary in 1987-1988 gave a cow to students of the seminary that is preparing celebrations for the 100 century.
Padre Gatete says “when old students come to visit a school like what the old students did; it gives courage for the current students to learn well to achieve the same statuses the old students achieved.”
Emmanuel Kamere one of the old students says this seminary is basic of what they have become and achieved, “it provided us with knowledge, shaped us, nurtured us and prepared us for the life we are living now.”

For these old students, visiting their old school as well as giving it a cow is to pay back to the school that taught and molded them. It is also a way of showing the current students that with hard work; they will definitely have a better future.

Kabgayi Seminary has taught about 5154 students among which 338 have become priests. The seminary was founded on the 4th of October 1913 by Bishop Yohani Yozefu Hirth the then Vicar of Pope in the Victoria Apostolic Vicariate.
