If there ever was a man who welcomed the results of Primus Guma Guma Super Star with a fringe smile on his face, then it must be Alex Muyoboke – for obvious reasons. Riderman emerged victorious followed by the Urban Boyz, whom he enjoyed a short spell with as their manager. The trio went on to dump him earlier this year and close sources to him reveal he was not happy with the treatment he had got from them following his dismissal. And if Urban Boyz had gone all the way to win the ultimate prize of the singing competition the opposite would have happened. Muyoboke would have furiously frowned –again for obvious reasons.
Reveling in Riderman’s success, Muyoboke is believed to be haunting his former boys and taunting them at the same time. Speaking to a local celebrity website, the veteran manager was quoted as saying, “I am glad and thankful because I prayed hard that Riderman wins it. If it had gone to any other artist, I would have been disappointed.”
But cleverly and cautiously, Muyoboke avoided mentioning anyone by name saying, “I need more time to keep on celebrating this victory because he (Riderman) really deserved it.” Muyoboke’s split with Urban Boyz was bitterly acrimonious. Having managed the trio for only one year, he was shown the door and since then their relationship has not been so sweet. Once in a while the two parties disguisedly throw jibes at each other but are all quick to dismiss there is any hard feelings contained in the remarks.
