“I learnt how to drive a motorcycle with the sole reason of becoming a motorcyclist by profession. I am able to provide myself with whatever I want compared to my fellows who cannot work. I am proud of I am doing and being a female does not restrict me at all” she says proudly.
Ndacyayisenga who has been working as a motorcyclist for over a year now, says she has never been attacked or been in an insecure situation. “My fellow motorcyclists treat me with respect and none often has ever treated me unfairly due to my sex. We are all motorcyclists in the same business and striving to earn a living, someone’s sex doesn’t matter.”
I am proud of that young woman who has managed to move above societal expectations and proved women can do whatever they set their minds to do just like men” says Pascal Ndahimana a fellow motorcyclists operating in Mabuga sector.
