PGGSS organizers deny bribery claims

Mushyoma Joseph, Managing Director of East African Promoters

East African Promoters and BRALIRWA, the two main organizers of Primus Guma Guma Super Star, have vehemently denied allegations of “massive rigging” in the just concluded competition in which rapper Riderman emerged victorious. Riderman was crowned winner after a four-month extension of the competition, and some have taken to the media to assert there were elements of voter fraud throughout the campaign.

But speaking to the media a day after the champion was crowned, Mushyoma Joseph, Managing Director of East African Promoters brushed aside such accusations describing them as wide of the mark. He said, “It could not have been possible to steal any votes because very soon they will be made public. Riderman’s popularity has been surging day in day out and there is no question about that.”

However his words have caught many observers offside. A famous radio presenter who spoke to tukabyine.com on condition of anonymity insisted that the vote count would be helpful only if it was made public at the same time when the winner is being declared. He said, “So why then tell us about the number of votes they garnered if the winner has already been made public? The only way that area can gain credibility is if the two were done simultaneously.”
